As usual, Soulfest was a blast. The Blue Duck was everywhere...even did some crowd surfing during Norma Jean! Thanks to everyone who stopped by our merch table to buy a cd or shirt or just said hi. I Want to Write a Song Named and Themed After You.
Hey there,
I'm starting a new project for the month of July where every week I write and record a song named and themed after a random person's story. If you have a great story and think it would be awesome to have a song named and themed in your likeness, this could be a lot of fun.
So here's how it works. You send me an e-mail either telling me about yourself or a something that happened to you. I'll read all the submissions and choose one. Every Sat. in July a new song will be posted for free to download on www.GrindingTapes.org.
So, by the end of July, there will be 5 songs about 5 different people. If you're chosen, a lot of people will be able to sing along to your life! You might even adopt it as your theme song! Please include as much detail and background information as you have. It will give your story a better chance at getting picked and make it easier for me to write a good song about you.
The songs will only be available for a week a piece and when the next one's up the prior could be gone forever, so make sure you come back for the download every Sat!

01.14.2006After The Sirens just finished recording demos for their new full-length record (out this summer BDR). They once again worked with Ian Van Opijnen from Echo Room Productions, who produced their "We Have No White Flags" EP as well as many other great New England bands. The demos have been mastered at Spectre Studios (Underoath, Emery, etc.) and both Blue Duck and ATS are excited to let you hear them before the new album comes out.
In celebration of these demo tracks being finished, there will be an online scavenger hunt starting within the next week. I've heard the tracks and i think its fair to say its gunna be a good one. So far there will be guitars, bass, drums,
djembe, cajon, flute, bongos. saxaphone, trumpet, clarinet, hammered dulcimer, floor toms galore!, nuts, tamobrines, and
handclaps all over the place. Also, it is rumored that a man choir is in order including members of After the Sirens.
Oh and you might wanna keep an ear out for those hand claps because i definitely helped...its prettymuch the highlight of
the album [which we are planning on releasing some time this winter].

festival this summer and its called the Rock The Boat Fest. It is going to be at the East Bridgewater YMCA
